Position Description:
VGS is seeking an experienced grant writing consultant who is committed to the organization’s mission and values. Initial projects will include the management of reports and applications for existing and new grants in collaboration with the development director. Consultant should have the confidence and ability to provide grant writing guidance, coaching and education as needed in support of the organization’s fundraising strategy and budget. He/she/they will report to the director of development, work collaboratively, and have a demonstrated history of measuring and reaching income goals.
Position Location:
Remote with potential for occasional in-person meetings based on organizational needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilies:
The grant writing consultant will quickly familiarize themselves with VGS history, mission and values to assist with the execution of VGS development department strategy. The consultant will confidently oversee and manage grant applications and reports in collaboration with development director and fundraising assistant. Work hours are flexible, to be determined based on consultant experience and project scope/needs to be identified during the interview process. This opportunity includes the expectation that consultant is qualified for future grant prospecting, but is not required within the scope of the current project. Must have excellent writing and editing skills, strong ability to plan ahead, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records. VGS is committed to being an inclusive workplace. Contract Duration:
Six months, initial agreement.
Contract Rate of Pay:
Budget for this project is $600-1000/month based on experience.
