Healthy Lakewood Foundation is seeking an experienced communications consultant who can help articulate the organization’s mission and values. Retainer agreement will include guidance and recommendations to develop a communication plan in collaboration with the executive director and volunteer community engagement committee. The primary goal of this consulting agreement is to support the HLF executive director and engagement committee as they define and communicate the organization’s mission and values to strengthen and develop relationships across all sectors of the community.
Remote position with availability for monthly in-person committee meetings (Lakewood, OH) with advance notice
Essential Duties & Responsibilies:
The communications consultant should have expertise working with nonprofits and small teams, feel comfortable teaching/educating/implementing and measuring effective communications and digital marketing strategy for nonprofit organizations. Client seeks a “grow as we go” communication partner with expertise in goal setting, comms strategy, content planning, target audience development, social media management, digital advertising, and Canva graphic design skills. Consultant will agree to a monthly retainer amount to include availability for editing and review of press releases, social media planning and/or content creation and scheduling. This agreement will include flexible hours with availability for some in-person meetings leading up to a Sept. 2022 annual meeting event. Final service agreement terms will be determined based on recommendations made by the consultant during the interview process. He/she/they will report to the HLF executive director and should be willing to offer communications guidance and work collaboratively with HLF volunteers and board members.HLF is committed to advancing equity, diversity and inclusion in its internal and external practices. Demonstrated competence in discussing and uplifting race, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, (dis)ability, and other diversity factors in communications is essential.
9-12 months, initial retainer agreement
Contract Rate of Pay:
Budget for this project is $600-1000 per month
